Hellgrammite Crochet Pattern PDF — Dobsonfly Larvae Amigurumi

Hellgrammite -  the fascinating larva of the Dobsonfly.
The finished crocheted Hellgrammite measures approximately 26 cm (10 inches) in length.

This pattern includes two options for the lateral filaments:

• Sewn-on filaments (more dimensional and closest to the real insect)
• Crocheted-on filaments (faster, with no sewing required)

Materials

• Sport weight yarn (50g, 165m) — Alize Cotton Gold #26 (dark brown), #690 (brown), YarnArt Jeans #87 (beige), YarnArt Mink #332 or any fuzzy yarn
• Hook 1.75 mm (a smaller hook than suggested by yarn manufacturer is recommended)
• Pins
• Stitch marker
• Safety eyes — 8 mm diameter (adjustable)
• Tapestry needle
• Fiberfill
